Answers to common questions from parents and families.
We work with children, adolescents, and adults. Our practice has particular expertise in supporting
children as young as 3 years old, as well as teens and families.
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know you and understand your concerns. We’ll discuss your goals, review relevant history, and begin developing a plan that fits your needs. It’s a relaxed, no-pressure environment.
Harmonyus Mynd is an out of network provider which means we do not bill your insurance directly. However, upon request, we will provide a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance directly for information on their reimbursement policy.
Payments are due at the time of services unless prior arrangements have been made. We also offer a limited amount of “sliding fee scale” slots based on financial need.
Standard therapy sessions are typically 45–50 minutes. Psychological assessments and initial evaluations may take longer depending on the type and scope.
Therapy is confidential without written consent and protected by HIPAA laws. However, exceptions are made for safety risks, such as imminent harm to yourself or someone else. For Forensic Psychological Services, there are limitations to confidentiality and information may be shared with the retaining party and/or as governed by the legal process.
Services are primarily held virtually. However, in-person sessions will be arranged as needed.
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, a half of your rate will be charged.
You can reach us by phone, email, or through the contact form on our website. We’ll respond within one business day to schedule your visit.

If your child is showing changes in behavior, mood, or social functioning — such as increased anxiety, difficulty in school, frequent tantrums, withdrawal, or trouble making friends — therapy can be a helpful step. We’re happy to discuss your concerns in a free initial consultation.
Absolutely. Family involvement can be a key part of a child’s progress. Depending on the situation, we may include parents in sessions, provide parent coaching, or offer separate family counseling.
